Cheshire Police have released E-fits of two men they would like to speak to in relation to a distraction theft in Crewe.
The images have been released as part of an investigation into a distraction theft, targetting an elderly woman in Crewe.
Two men offered to clean the gutters of a home on Meredith Street on September 7, 2017. While one of the offenders spoke to the victim in her kitchen, another stole up to £500 from her savings box in another room.
PC Vicki Greenhoff, said, “The suspects in this case targeted this victim due her vulnerability and she has been left extremely upset by the incident. The offenders betrayed the victims trust by going into her home and stealing a large amount of money, which will have a big impact on her.
“After working closely with the victim we have now produced e-fits of men we would like to speak to in relation to the incident – I would ask anyone who recognises the men to contact the team here at Crewe.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to remain vigilant of anyone who comes to your door offering to carry out work, and I urge people to report any suspicious activity to us on 101.”

The offenders are described as being white and between 30-35 years old, and both speaking with Irish accents. They travelled to and from the address in a white van.
The advice is to always check for official tradesman ID before letting someone into a home to carry out works, and for neighbouring residents to look out for those more vulnerable residents.
