The family of Nell Jones have set up a charity in her name.

A student of Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, Nell was one of the youngest victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack, at just 14 years-old.

The Remembering Nell Foundation will work with lesser known charities who do not get the funding they need – in particular those that support young people in the North West.

The aim is to support two charities each year through fundraising activities.

The charity will launch with a black tie ball at the Mere Hotel in Knutsford in April.

Nell’s mum Jane told Silk FM:

Nell isn’t here. Nell is not able to achieve what she wanted to achieve. But, if we can help someone achieve something in Nell’s name; that’s what it’s all about.

The family are also supporting the Garden of Memories at HCCS, which is dedicated to Nell. The memorial is due to open in May.

Twenty two people were killed in the Manchester Evening News Arena bombing in May 2017.
