Police are appealing for information after thieves stole from a charity shop in Northwich.

They broke into Age UK on Witton Street between 5:30pm on Saturday 23 September and 8am on Monday 25 September.

A quantity of cash and a Samsung Galaxy J3 mobile phone were taken before they fled the scene.

The offenders had to smash a window to get in.

Chief Inspector Simon Meegan said: “It’s sad to see that the offenders in these cases have stooped so low as to rob a charity shop and we are committed to doing everything we can to trace the people responsible.

“Age UK is one of the UKs leading charities is the country’s dedicated to helping people make the most of later life and their work touches on the lives of thousands of people; including many residents in the local community, which is what makes this incident so despicable.

“I urge anyone with any information this incident to contact the team here at Northwich so that those responsible can be brought to justice.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting incident number 137 of 25/9/2017.
