Police are appealing for information following a serious collision at Lyme Park in Disley.

At around 1pm on Monday 4 December 2023 two pedestrians were involved in a collision with a shuttle bus near to the gate of the main house inside Lyme Park.

One of the pedestrians, a 71-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision, including a broken arm and a broken pelvis.

The second pedestrian, a 75-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

The collision was reported to police on Tuesday 5 December and enquiries have been ongoing. As part of the investigation officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Chris Luke said:

“While I appreciate that this incident took place almost three months ago, Lyme Park is a popular tourist attraction and there are likely to have been several people in the area who may have witnesses the incident and I would urge them to come forward.

“The same goes for anyone who was on the shuttle bus at the time the collision occurred.

“I would urge anyone with any information may aid the investigation to contact us on 101, or at:
