Band which played Glastonbury kicks off this autumn’s folk Salt Works Sessions

The Little Unsaid’ band, which played Glastonbury this year, will kick off this autumn’s Salt Works Sessions at Cheshire’s multi award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum on 22 October.

The band’s expansive songwriting and impassioned performances have earned them a reputation as a ‘must-see’ live act on the independent music scene. Doors and the bar open at 7.15pm with music starting at 8pm. Parking is free, tickets cost £15.00 and can be bought at http://www.danarts.org/events/the-little-unsaid/

‘The Little Unsaid’ takes in elements of alt-folk, electronica and alt-rock and their music has been described as ‘entrancing’ (Clash) and ‘bold and different’ (The Guardian). Fronted by award-winning composer, songwriter and producer, John Elliott, in early 2022 the band enjoyed its most successful album and tour to date with ‘Lick The Future’s Lips’ (Reveal Records, 2021).

‘The Little Unsaid’ has released five studio albums and thrives on strong music and the connection through live performance. During Covid, John collaborated with artists including Billy Bragg and Frank Turner to raise money for the Music Venue Trust and also composes for theatre and film.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “’The Little Unsaid’ is an inventive and successful band with lots to say. I’m delighted that a band that has played at this year’s Glastonbury Festival will now be performing a gig at the Lion Salt Works Museum. It promises to be an unforgettable night of music by a band that loves live performances.”

The Lion Salt Works Museum has won ten awards since opening in 2015 after a four-year £10m restoration, including winning the National Lottery’s top award for heritage projects in 2016. Cheshire’s Lion Salt Works Museum tells the story of salt in fun and interactive displays, including a sound and light show that evokes the steam rising from the giant salt pans. In addition to a children’s play area, shop, butterfly garden and café, there are also year-round activities. These range from Touring Rural Arts plays, children’s craft activities to events featuring historic steam engines.
