Report recommends Cheshire-wide approach to tackling bullying

During Anti-Bullying Week, Cheshire’s Anti-Bullying Commission will release its first report into the issue among under 25s.

The report is a culmination of many months work looking into the issue, including speaking to hundreds of young people across Cheshire who have experienced bullying as part of a call for evidence.

The report is recommending that schools, workplaces and community organisations come together in a united-front against bullying after it found more needs to be done to not only protect victims but also manage the behaviour of bullies themselves.

It has developed a county-wide anti-bullying charter and is urging schools, workplaces and community organisations to sign it to show their commitment to challenging bullying and protecting people in our communities.

On the day the report is released the following will be available for interview to talk about their experiences and how they are working towards a bullying-free Cheshire.

·         Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane, who established the Commission

·         Chair of the Commission, Alan Yates

·         Case study who was part of the call for evidence
