WILMSLOW BONFIRE RETURNS WITH FUN-FILLED FAMILY EVENT

The Wilmslow Round Table’s Annual Bonfire & Firework Display returns this November 6th with a fantastic fun-filled family event featuring dazzling displays, award-winning food pop ups and spectacular live performances!

The big community event takes place this year on Saturday 6th November 2021, with the Organisers of the event pulling out all the stops this year to deliver a Covid-safe family event which not only features firework displays from the largest professional display company in the UK but also features awe-inspiring live performances too on a brand new entertainment stage which includes fire dancers, local musicians and children’s entertainers.

Gates open at 5pm when festivities will commence on the main stage with a special performance by a local show choir.

The lighting of the Bonfire this year will be followed by a unique performance from ManchesterBased Fire Performer; Sarah Spirals who will perform the art of fire manipulation creating dazzling fire displays and visual effects live on stage.

Local radio station; Cheshire's Silk 106.9 will be in attendance at the event with Radio DJ; Darren Antrobus as MC.

The family-favourite Kids firework display returns offering a specially curated display for the younger members of the audience to enjoy which will be followed by more local live performances on stage then building to the main firework display which this year has a cinematic James Bond theme with the firework display perfectly timed to well-known and well-loved Bond songs from the past 60 years.

The firework displays will be carried out by Wilmslow Bonfire regulars; Pains Fireworks who stage over 500 firework displays worldwide each year and are known to be the longest established firework display company in the UK. History suggests that the barrels of gunpowder used in the infamous plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament were “manufactured by a gunpowder manufacturer within earshot of the Bells of Bow”. At that time the only such business was one John Pain, the founder of the modern day Pains Fireworks.

Foodie lovers can rejoice as the November 6th event will feature award winning local food outlets including Cheshire based; Wildfire Pizza Co who will be serving proper Neapolitan-style wood fired pizzas throughout alongside a selection of local food and beverage outlets including the Trendy Festival Bar Co who will be serving Mulled Wine & Bonfire favourites.

The event has been designed this year with additional Covid safety measures in place to ensure everyone can enjoy the community event safely; these include larger audience areas to allow for social distancing, one way systems, hand sanitizer points and cashless/card only gates.

Organised by the Wilmslow Round Table - Bonfire Chair; Paul D’Ambra spoke of his excitement ahead of the event; ‘We are thrilled to be able to bring the Wilmslow Bonfire event back to the Carnival Fields this year and deliver a community focussed event and continuing to raise funds for incredible charities and worthy causes in the area’.

Local Resident & Hale Barns Carnival organiser; Max Eden who has supported the event this year added; ‘The Wilmslow Bonfire event is such a fantastic community event for Wilmslow and its just incredible to see the dedication and hard work which Paul and all the other Bonfire Volunteers put into creating this inclusive charity event in Wilmslow each year, I’ve been attending the event for over 20 years and it’s wonderful to have these community events in our town!’
