£1M EuroMillions Prize Goes Unclaimed in Cheshire East

Camelot UK Lotteries Limited, operator of The National Lottery, today announced that the £1,000,000 UK Millionaire Maker prize from the EuroMillions draw on 12th March 2021 has remained unclaimed for more than 180 days after the draw took place.

The ticket-holder bought their EuroMillions ticket in Cheshire East and the deadline for the ticket-holder to claim their prize was at midnight on 8 September 2021. 

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money. However, the money will now add to the £36M raised on average each and every week for National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

“We’re encouraging everyone to check their tickets online at national-lottery.co.uk or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to buy or check their tickets in retail in line with government guidance. Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize. You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you're a winner.”

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days (about six months) from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket. All prizes that do not receive a valid claim after 180 days, and any interest they have earned, add to the £36M raised on average every week for National Lottery Good Causes across the UK. This money helps support everything from the local charity making a difference where you live through to helping our nation’s athletes win Olympic and Paralympic gold medals. To date, over £43BN has been raised and distributed to National Lottery Good Causes through more than 635,000 individual grants.

Thanks to National Lottery players, over £1.2BN is being used by charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, which includes over £600M in funding support from the National Lottery Community Fund which is being used to help groups best placed to support people and communities through the crisis.
