Each local commercial radio station in the UK has certain requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station “Format”, a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator. Events / Charity Support or Coverage:
Cheshire’s Silk Radio is proud to support charitable organisations and we are always keen to hear from new groups with charitable status.
We are proud to host our annual Toy Appeal in support of local children’s charities across Cheshire, which receives overwhelming support from our generous listeners each year. Further to this, we have an Easter Egg Appeal which follows the same principle.
We continue yearly to also support local charities in their fundraising ventures both online and in person.
Since the founding of Cheshire’s Silk Radio we have held the annual Cheshire’s Silk Radio Local Hero Awards. The awards highlight the real stars across the region, who have achieved greatness without the recognition they truly deserve.
We offer extensive coverage of the Cheshire County Show each year, as well as having a static stand during the event, to integrate with members of the public and take part in various activities across the two days.
