It's back, the Congleton Harriers have announced that the 38th Congleton Half-Marathon will take place on Sunday 2nd October 2022.
After last year’s triumphant return, this year we aim to make the event even better.
Detailed planning is well underway to ensure that a safe and well marshalled race can take place around the traffic managed scenic countryside roads of Congleton.
This year Congleton Harriers are pleased to announce that the start will once again be established on Somerford Lane & is only a 10-minute walk from our race HQ at Congleton High School. With the start & finish line in the same location, we hope that runners will be encouraged and inspired to achieve some spectacular sprint finishes.
The Race HQ is still at the Congleton High School on Box Lane, who are once again providing ample free car parking and a place to leave your running kit.
As always, the Congleton Half Marathon is part of the NSRRA race series and will, as usual, attract many of the runners from that annual competition.
We are pleased to have teamed up with AV Timing, who are managing the race entry process and chip timing. This year, there is the added attraction that the timing will also include live split times which will allow friends and family to track progress from the start / finish area. Enter now at:
https://www.avtiming.com/congletonhalf
This year's race will be pure and simple physical entries only. Entries will remain open until 9am on the day. Places are filling up fast so don’t be disappointed, sign up today.
This year’s artwork has been designed by the Congleton Harriers very good friend, Stephen Sibbald. It pictures the legendary bear which gives Congleton its nickname ‘bear town’. The bear is majestically standing on top of the Cloud which is a prominent feature of the local skyline. We believe that the artwork is truly eye-catching and representative of the area.
As always, this is a charity event with all profits going to extremely good causes in the Congleton and Cheshire East area. Details of our chosen charities can be found on our website:

We would like to thank our sponsors this year, including Congleton Town Council, Timothy Brown Estate Agents and Congleton Inclosure Trust to name a few, for their generous donations and ongoing support.
Finally, the event is run by runners, for runners! It also requires a lot of marshalling! So, if anyone who isn’t running fancies a few hours out cheering on the competitors, family and friends whilst doubling up as a marshal, then please contact Stephen Canning, the Race Director by emailing:
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
