Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage following an aggravated burglary in Nantwich.
At around 10pm on Friday 11 March two unknown men knocked at the door of an address on Newbold Way.
The homeowner opened the door and the pair forced their way into the property.
Once inside the men threatened the victims, a 76-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, and demanded that they handed over all of their jewellery and cash.
One of the men went on to search the address and stole further jewellery and a 55” TV.
During the incident, the 76-year-old man was pushed to the floor by one of the men causing him to sustain a serious back injury.
The pair then left the address and got into a vehicle, which was parked nearby, driving off in the direction of Nantwich town centre.
Both of the men were described as white, around 5’ 6” and of medium build. They were both described as Eastern European and were wearing cardigans and trousers.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and saw anything that may aid their investigation to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Victoria Shelton, of Eastern CID, said: “This was a terrifying incident that has understandably left the victim extremely shaken up.
“I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to trace the people responsible.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we want to hear from anyone who believes they may any information or video footage which may aid our investigation.
