Officers investigating a burglary in Poynton have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
At around 4.45am on Sunday 21 August, a man approached a house on Chester Road and is believed to have taken a mobility scooter that was inside a front porch.
Officers are now asking members of the public for help in identifying the man pictured in the CCTV footage as they believe he could assist with their enquiries.
PC Alice Mayo, from Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “This is a particularly callous offence which has left an elderly woman shaken and without necessary means of transport.
“As part of the investigation, I am appealing to anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward.
“Perhaps you recognise the man pictured in the CCTV or may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident. If so, please do get in touch to let us know.
“I also want to ask residents in the area to check their CCTV or dash cam footage to see if it may provide information that could assist the investigation.”
