Officers are appealing for information following reports of an assault in Macclesfield.
The incident is believed to have occurred between 12am and 1am on Monday 2 February in Back Wallgate.
A male victim sustained a serious injury to his hand after being assaulted by a male suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his early to mid-20s, with blonde hair.
PC Kate Simmons said:
“We’re appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forwards.
“The same goes for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw anything which may be useful to our ongoing investigation.
“We’d also ask people to review CCTV/video doorbell/dashcam footage to see if it captured anything relevant.”
