Appeal for information following robbery in Winsford

Officers are appealing for information following a robbery in Winsford.

At around 6.50pm on Sunday 2nd August, police were called to reports of an incident in Wharton Road in Winsford.

It was reported that a 15-year-old boy had been approached by youths close to the roundabout near the Red Lion pub.

They assaulted him before stealing cash from him. The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Officers have since arrested two boys, aged 12 and 16, on suspicion of robbery. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

DC Lock said:

“As we piece together exactly what happened during the incident, we would like to appeal for anyone with any information or who witnessed what happened to get in touch with us.

“The same goes for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and has any dashcam footage.

“We would particularly like to hear from a man who stopped their vehicle and intervened during the incident.
