Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and footage following a fatal collision in Middlewich.
Shortly before 2.15pm on Monday 28th April, police were called to reports of a collision in Booth Lane, Moston, Middlewich, near to the junction with Tetton Lane.
The collision involved a black Fiesta ST and a pedal cyclist.
The cyclist, an 11-year-old boy from Middlewich, suffered serious injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Two 19-year-old men from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested in relation to the incident. The driver of the Fiesta was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The passenger was arrested on suspicion of aiding/abetting dangerous driving. They have since been released on bail.
As officers work to establish the full circumstances, they would now like to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen a Black Seat Leon and a Black Ford Fiesta travelling in close proximity on the A533 from Sandbach in the direction of Middlewich between 2pm and 2.15pm on Monday 28 April.
As part of enquiries, officers would urge anyone who may also have any CCTV or dashcam footage of these vehicles to get in touch with them.
