Police are appealing for information following a knife-point robbery in Macclesfield.
Sometime between 1.10pm and 1.25pm on Tuesday 19 October a 22-year-old man was walking along the underpass between the train station and Tesco, Hibel Road, when he was approached by two men who threatened him with a knife and took his money and a phone. The victim managed to run off and passed a man who may have seen the incident unfold.
The first suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and between 30 to 40 years old. He had a light coloured stubbly beard and was wearing a Parker-style jacket with a fur-lined hood.
The second suspect is described as white, with scruffy medium length hair. He was wearing dark clothing.
DC Andy Megson said: “Thankfully the victim was unharmed, but he was left shaken by this. We’re keen to speak to the man who is a potential witness to the robbery, and I would urge him to get in touch with me. I would also urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in this area, or who has any information that may help, to contact me.”
Anyone with information should contact Cheshire police on 101, or via the website quoting IML 1112008.
Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
