At around 3.20am today, firefighters received multiple reports of a fire on Chilham Close, Winsford.
Two fire engines from Winsford were dispatched to the scene and on arrival the crews found that a car had been deliberately set alight on a driveway outside a residential property.
The fire had also spread to the front of the house.
One firefighter, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
One casualty was treated by paramedics at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The crews were detained at the incident for approximately 90 minutes.
