Barnaby is planning the first fully in-person festival since the pandemic and there is a lot to do to get ready for June 2023.
They are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with the early planning and preparation, to work with us on a regular basis between February and June 2023. These roles will be key in supporting the artistic director and the board to deliver a successful festival.
Comms & Marketing Volunteer:
Activities: Helping reignite the excitement around Barnaby. Updating the website, (Wordpress), reinvigorating social media engagement, drafting press releases, identifying marketing opportunities, helping create print materials- posters, leaflets, etc.
Time Commitment: 3 hours a week. Feb – June. Flexible when you do the work, but you need to be able to check in weekly (30 mins via phone) with the artistic director on Tuesday daytimes. Fully available festival weekend 16th - 18th June.
Where: Working remotely, with the potential for working from the Barnaby office closer to the festival.
Barnaby Platform Volunteer:
Activities: Barnaby Platform is an invitation to all creative groups and individuals in Macclesfield to put on an event of their own during festival weekend, in response to the theme: In a New Light. This volunteer will help to launch the call out for this, liaise with participants, and compile the necessary information for Barnaby to advertise the event details.
Time Commitment: 3 - 4 hours a week. Feb – June. Flexible when you do the work, but you need to be able to check in weekly (30 mins via phone) with the artistic director on Tuesday daytimes. Fully available festival weekend 16th - 18th June.
Where: Working remotely, with the potential for working from the Barnaby office closer to the festival.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Activities: Planning the volunteer engagement and management for Barnaby 2023. Recruitment, building relationships, allocation of duties, scheduling, management.
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week Feb - Easter, gradually increasing to approx 4 - 6 hours a week in the run-up to the festival. Fully available festival weekend 16th - 18th June.
Where: Working remotely, with the potential for working from the Barnaby office closer to the festival.
