Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre is excited to announce a brand new Mini Young Company specifically for younger children aged 4 - 7 years, to develop creative skills in theatre and create pathways into the arts.
The new Mini Young Company will form a foundational part of the wider Young Company, our flagship youth theatre company that successfully works with children, teenagers and young adults across the ages of 6 – 19 years, developing invaluable creative skills and experience opportunities within drama and theatre production.
The Mini Young Company will provide a more focused programme of learning for Key Stage One students, aiming to provide a gentle, but equally exciting introduction into the world of drama and theatre production, as well as providing a smooth and natural migration into our Young Company as the participating children continue to grow and develop their skills.
Mini Young Company is definitely not all work and no play. Our weekly sessions will provide the perfect opportunity for young children to meet new friends, and most importantly, have fun!
During an exciting time of transformation for Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre, the introduction of the Mini Young Company marks an important new chapter for our Learning and Engagement department. It also reaffirms our vision to inspire and equip younger people to develop and showcase their talents both on stage and behind; and become the future of the arts.
Allie Spencer, Head of Creative Learning and Engagement at Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre, expressed her excitement at the prospect of introducing the new focused programme for younger children:
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this new group. Our highly skilled practitioners will give the children a fun packed session of games and skill-based activities which is a perfect ending to a Monday afternoon.”
Places are now open to enrol for the brand new Mini Young Company.
