On 20th December local dignitaries, blue light services, carers and bereaved from all over Cheshire and beyond, will be taking part in a candlelight memorial walk and church service.
They will be remembering all the lives lost during the pandemic and to give thanks to all those who carried on working during the pandemic.
Mayors from the neighbouring towns of Middlewich, Winsford, Sandbach, Crewe and Northwich, are all confirmed as attending.
They will be representing the bereaved in their towns, as well as attendance from Cheshire Police, Fire and Ambulance services, carers from various local care homes, teachers, and hospice carers. The memorial walk will be led by a bagpiper.
The event will serve as a poignant reminder that it wasn't just big cities that were devastated by losses during the pandemic but small towns, communities and rural villages suffered too.
This event has been organised by Covid19familiesuk, a national network of support groups across the UK for anyone bereaved during the pandemic.
They offer friendship, support and organise memorial events for the many thousands who were unable to attend their own family members funerals due to lockdown restrictions
It is the first time an event of this nature has been held anywhere in Cheshire.
