Card Factory creates exclusive book to raise £10,000 for the NSPCC

A special partnership between the NSPCC and Card Factory will be marked with a brand-new children’s book just in time for Christmas.

The Big Freeze In Peppermint Peaks will be on sale exclusively in all Card Factory shops across the UK from October, and will raise £10,000 to ensure the NSPCC can remain on the front line for children and young people around the UK.

Ice skater Dot and her bunny sidekick Bounce live in a town called Peppermint Peaks, and during a snowstorm, they discover the importance of the warmth of friendship in Winter.

Card Factory have raised more than half a million pounds (£507,574), for the NSPCC since 2016, but this is the first time the retail chain has created a padded, hardcover children’s book specially for the charity.

The book – which was designed in-house at Card Factory - will be on sale priced at £1.99, from October, with plush toys and dress up accessories also available in all Card Factory stores and online.

Adam Dury, Chief Commercial Officer at Card Factory, said: “We are very proud of our partnership with the NSPCC, and really pleased with how this exclusive book has turned out.

“The Big Freeze In Peppermint Peaks looks great, and we’re sure our customers will love to read about the adventures of Dot and Bounce and the importance of being there for others. It’s a lovely message, and one we’re delighted to share with the NSPCC.”

Tim Bradshaw, corporate partnerships manager for the NSPCC, said: “We’re delighted that Card Factory have created this wonderful new book to support the NSPCC.

“This year has been particularly tough for children and young people across the country, and Christmas can be a difficult time for families as well. The NSPCC has remained here on the front line to support children and their families, and this generous commitment from Card Factory will ensure we can be there throughout the festive period.”

The NSPCC has worked on the frontline of child protection throughout the pandemic to support children and young people across the UK. No child should be left to cope alone, and we want to help rebuild our society and ensure every child gets the support and help they need.

Thanks to support from Card Factory and its customers, the NSPCC can ensure we are still here for children in their darkest hours, and further donations can be made online here.
