Officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an altercation in Alsager.
Two men and a heavily pregnant woman were assaulted during the incident, which occurred outside a takeaway on Crewe Road at around 10.30pm on Sunday 12 July.
One of the men sustained a serious facial injury as a result of the incident.
The other two victims, who are all in their 20s, only suffered minor injuries.
A 20-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been interviewed under caution in relation to the incident.
The CCTV images are of a different man that officers want to speak to about the altercation. They believe he may have important information to aid their ongoing investigation and are urging anyone who recognises him to get in touch.
Sergeant Stephen Hill said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are determined to establish who assaulted the victims and make them face the consequences of their actions.
“One of the victims sustained a serious facial injury as a result of the incident and another was assaulted despite making it clear that she was heavily pregnant.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries we have released CCTV images of a man we believe may have information to help our investigation.
“If you think you recognise the man in the CCTV images or know who he is please call us on 101, quoting IML 753258, or give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“We also want to hear from anyone who was in the area on the night of Sunday 12 July and believes that they witnessed something which may help our investigation.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
