The Minshull Vernon and District Parish Council ( which also covers the Parishes of Leighton and Woolstanwood) met with Cheshire Highways and Contractors Balfour Beaty on 17/6/22.
What came out of the meeting?
Middlewich Road will be fully open (from Coppenhall Lane, Crewe roundabout to Smithy Lane (by the hospital) from October 2022)
The short section of Middlewich Road from Smithy Lane to Flowers Lane will be single lane or fully closed from October 2022 to March 2023.
Cheshire East Highways will look at making Minshull New Road (from the Pyms Lane roundabout to West Street) and Frank Webb Avenue (from Badger Avenue to West Street) to be one way, to alleviate the congestion.
Pyms Lane is to be opened up when the emergency services require it.
The Parish Council and the MP will lobby the Council planners to allow a lot more weekend working to speed up the completion of the work
There will be a sign at the Smithy Lane roundabout directing traffic to the hospital.
Shortly members of the public will be able to visit the developer's site to view progress.
The whole road works scheme will take up to 80 weeks.
The Middlewich Road will only be closed for part of that time.
A full programme of works will follow very soon.
