Christmas At The Potteries Centre

Following the recent full reopening of the newly rebranded Potteries Centre, and in celebration of the festive season, its team has put together their 12 reasons to visit this winter – one for each of the 12 days of Christmas.

Christmas might look a little different in 2020 but there are some things that make the Christmas season special every year. Whether that’s tucking into delicious festive food, listening to Christmas tunes, spending time with family or shopping for the perfect Christmas gift.

Amy Whittaker, General Manager for The Potteries Centre, said:

“It’s really nice to welcome back our customers and just lovely to see so much festive cheer amongst our fellow Stokies. Not a day goes by without an ‘Ay Up Duck’ and a smile.

“Christmas is always a special time for us at the centre and although this Christmas is certainly unlike any other, there are still so many great reasons to feel festive.”

If you’re in need of a little festive magic, here are The Potteries Centre’s top 12 reasons to visit this Christmas:

  1. Customers have plenty of time to shop by taking advantage of our late night opening times; our doors stay open until 8pm every night from the 10th to 23rd December (except Sundays). Restaurants are open later for takeaways and deliveries.

  2. Late night shoppers will also be able to enjoy parking for only £1.50 after 4pm Monday to Saturday, with cheaper parking also on Sundays.

  3. In partnership with the Trussel Trust, a charity that works to stop UK hunger and poverty, we have a ‘Giving Box’ located outside H&M on the upper mall where customers can donate essential items such as food and new toiletries to the Stoke-on-Trent Food Bank (see website for a list of items to donate).

  4. "Five Gold Rings" we couldn’t resist! We have not five, but six exquisite jewellers where you can get something sparkly for your loved ones. These include Pandora, Swarovski, Ernest Jones, Beaverbrooks, HSamuels and Lovisa.

  5. To witness something really special, we urge you to go and visit Ruff & Ruby. Take a look at its merch and learn more about how it engages and equips young people to realise their value, reach their potential and revolutionise their world through emotional learning, mentoring, creative arts, social enterprise and employment opportunities.

Need a post lockdown haircut? They’ve also opened a full time barber shop in the store with 20% going directly to vulnerable young people in the local community.

  1. Why not enjoy a takeaway festive drink whilst you’re here? A Gingerbread Latte from Starbucks or an After Eight Hot Chocolate from Costa will soon warm your cockles, and leave you feeling festive in no time.

  2. If you’re wondering what sweet treats to leave out for Santa then we highly recommend a cosy apple & cinnamon muffin from BB’s Bakers & Baristas or a Double Choc Cookie Monster from Millie’s - he’ll thank you for it.

  3. For the gifts that Santa is unable to tick off his list, there are plenty of shops to explore such as Debenhams, Next, Primark, The Perfume Shop, Schuh, River Island, MenKind and Game…. The list goes on and on!

  4. For all the little ones on the nice list there is also The Entertainer where they are bound to find the top toy of their choice.

  5. Support a local independent store at The Stoke City FC Club Store. Pick up the latest strip, scarves and plenty of other fun accessories while singing Delilah with the rest of the fans from home.

  6. Not forgetting our beautiful Christmas decorations and giant Christmas tree adding that extra Christmas twinkle.

  7. Once you’ve shopped ‘til you’ve dropped you can head over to our restaurants The Burger Priest, Nando’s and Chiquitos and grab a yummy take away to take ‘wom for your tea!
