Congleton residents will benefit from improved bus connections, with additional evening, Sunday and Public Holiday services now running across the Beartown Bus Network.
The enhanced services, introduced through Cheshire East Council’s Bus Service Improvement Plan, aim to make travelling around Congleton easier and more convenient, including outside traditional daytime hours.
Routes 90, 91, 92, 93A and 93C now have additional evening journeys from Monday to Saturday, running approximately every 90 minutes between 6.30pm and 10pm.
Daytime services have also been introduced on Sundays and Public Holidays on routes 90, 91, 92 and 93A, giving residents more opportunities to travel throughout the week.
Cllr Kay Wesley, Chair of the Community Committee said:
“This enhancement addresses a longstanding gap in the local bus network and is something Congleton Town Council has lobbied for over some time. Together with the roll-out of real-time passenger information and the town council’s Free Bus Days, I hope these improvements will encourage many more people to use the bus. Many thanks to the Cheshire East Bus Partnership for helping to make this happen.”
Reliable bus services are essential for connecting Congleton residents with work, education, healthcare appointments, shops, and family and friends. These improvements will make it easier for people to get around town and beyond, particularly during evenings and at weekends, while supporting local businesses and encouraging more sustainable travel.
