Congleton celebrates In Bloom success achieving ‘gold’ in the North West in Bloom competition and scooping the overall winner award for the ‘Best Large Town’. Congleton will now be in both North West in Bloom and Britain in Bloom 2022.
The North West in Bloom judges attended an awards ceremony on Tuesday 19 October at the Town Hall to reveal how Congleton had performed in the North West competition. It was a fantastic night for the amazing In Bloomers from across the town and from all generations who were thanked and praised for efforts that culminated in the town receiving the prestigious accolades.
Cllr David Brown, Chair of Congleton In Bloom said: “The In Bloom team offers its sincere thanks to all the individuals, groups, organisations, businesses, schools and trusts that supported the initiative. Everybody has worked so hard to make Congleton look fabulous this summer. These awards are testament to the dedication, commitment and passion of all our volunteers. The Congleton community pulled together despite the restrictions of the pandemic to put Congleton on the map for its horticultural excellence. We are absolutely delighted to pick up these awards and honoured to showcase Congleton to the rest of Britain in 2022.”
