Drive-in for The Christie is back this summer

The Christie will be returning to Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire this summer to hold another weekend of amazing movies.

The screenings will be on Friday 30th July and Sunday 1st August. The world’s largest mobile LED HD screen, the iCONIC 100 will also be back to ensure another incredible viewing experience for all of the guests.

This time there will also be live music from one of the north-west’s most sought after vocalists Jo Farrow prior to the evening screenings, and pirate and magician, Captain Dan Tastic will be there to entertain the children before the showing of the film ‘Finding Nemo’.

The classic American thriller ‘Jaws’ will kickstart the weekend on Friday evening with ‘Finding Nemo’ on Sunday afternoon and ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ on Sunday evening.

Food and drinks will be available from vendors, before and during each screening. Alternatively, guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in their car. Toilet facilities will also be provided.

Anyone who attends the event will be able to enjoy the movie from the comfort and safety of their own car. One way systems will be in place and clear queuing guidance will be provided as guests make their way around the venue.

Claire Ferguson from The Christie charity, said: “We are very excited to be returning to Arley Hall and Gardens for another Drive-in for The Christie event. The feedback we receive from these events continues to be so positive and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back this summer.”

Tickets are £30 per car, with five people allowed in each car. To purchase a ticket for this event, please visit:

Tickets will be sent out by email. To use a car with more than five seats, please contact The Christie charity directly on 0161 918 7403 and a member of the team will be happy to help.

The Christie charity supports the work of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust providing enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. This includes money for care and treatment, research, education and extra patient services. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to patients and their families.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust was the first specialist trust to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ twice (in 2016 and 2018) by the health regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It referred to The Christie as ‘a leader in cancer care’ and ‘a pioneer in developing innovative solutions to cancer care.’ The CQC praised the Trust’s staff which it said ‘go the extra mile to meet the needs of patients and their families’ and that they were ‘exceptionally kind and caring.’ In 2017, the CQC rated The Christie as the best specialist trust in the country, and one of the top three trusts overall in England.
