A former patient is set to host her second dazzling event later this year in aid of raising funds for the breast cancer unit at Macclesfield Hospital.
Organised by Gena Moors, the Splash of Pink Breast Cancer Ball ‘does Vegas’ will take place at Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa on Saturday 21st September.
The mum-of-two’s fundraising efforts started in 2023 with the creation of ‘Splash of Pink’ which was established as a thank you for the care she received following a breast cancer diagnosis at the unit in 2020.
Following the success of her first Splash of Pink Breast Cancer Ball last year, which saw more than £24,000 donated, this year’s event is taking on the theme of Las Vegas with Gena keen to reach her total goal of £50,000.
She said:
“I am extremely passionate about raising these funds and giving something back to Macclesfield Hospital as it’s where my own breast cancer journey took place.
“I’m hoping to raise over £50,000 to buy that piece of lifesaving equipment for the breast cancer unit and be able show everyone who has supported and donated, what heir money has gone towards.”
Gena recently visited the breast screening unit to speak to staff and hear more about how her fundraising will benefit the unit.
There are still limited tickets available at the event which includes a drinks reception, three course dinner, fun money casino and slot machines show girls, raffle, silent auction and disco until 1am.
Tickets are £80 with tables of 12 available, and anyone wishing to buy one can contact Gena by emailing:
