Police officers from Cheshire Police have arrested a man following reports of a burglary in Macclesfield.
At around 1am today, Monday 23rd February, police were called to reports that three unknown men had broken into an address on Steeple Street in Macclesfield, before fleeing the scene.
Officers were at the scene within two minutes of receiving the call and quickly located a 24-year-old man in the area, who was later arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in custody at this time.
Inspector Richard Haque said:
“We understand the concern this incident has caused, and I hope that the swift arrest of one suspect in this case will provide some reassurance to local residents and the wider community.
“Its import to remember that incidents of this nature are rare in the Macclesfield area, and we are doing all we can to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
“Anyone with information which may assist our investigation is urged to contact us."
