Officers investigating reports that a man was verbally abused in Northwich town centre have charged a man in relation to the incident.
Sean Leigh was arrested following an incident on Leicester Street at around 1.45pm on Friday 1st November a member of the public was racially abused by an unknown man.
He has since been charged with one count of racially aggravated abuse and one count of use of threatening and abusive language with intent to cause fear.
The 37-year-old of Arley Road, Northwich, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday 30th May, where he was released on bail.
He is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 27th June.
