Detectives investigating a series of thefts in Winnington have charged a man in relation to the incidents.
On Tuesday 11th November 2025, police received 14 reports of theft and attempted thefts in the Winnington urban village area.
The victims reported how the offenders had forced entry into cars and one shed in the area, stealing various items, including golf clubs, power tools, and cash.
Following enquiries, officers have today, Friday 30 January 2026, charged a man in relation to the incidents.
Samuel Brooks has been charged with 10 counts of theft from a motor vehicle, three counts of attempted theft from a motor vehicle, and one count of burglary other than a dwelling.
The 23-year-old has also been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, in relation to the theft of two cars which were stolen in Widnes on 16th October 2025, and Frodsham, on 18th October 2025.
Brooks, of Claughton Road in Birkenhead, has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Saturday 31st January.
