A man who was arrested in connection to a serious assault in Congleton, has now been charged.
Robert Higgins was arrested on Tuesday 21 February following an assault on Bromley Road which occurred at 7.23pm on Monday 20 February.
The 26-year-old, of no fixed abode, has been charged with section 18 assault, possession of a knife, possession of criminal property and theft from a shop.
Higgins appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday 22 February, where he was remanded in custody; he is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 22 March.
The victim in the case, a 30-year-old local man, was taken to hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
