A man from Northwich has been jailed after he was convicted of assaulting his former partner.
Christopher Greenwood appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday 10th November where he jailed for three years and nine months.
The 32-year-old, formerly of Barnton, was previously found guilty of one count of section 47 assault following a trial at Chester.
The court heard how at 6.30am on Thursday 14th August 2025, police were called to reports of an incident at a residential address in Barnton.
On arrival at the scene officers discovered that Greenwood had forced his way into his former partners home and assaulted her.
During the attack he kicked the woman in the face several times and stomped on her head, leaving the woman with a fractured eye socket.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Connor McGregor, of Northwich CID said:
“No one should feel threatened in their own home, and no one should be met with violence in any relationship.
“In this case, the victim in this case was left absolutely terrified by Greenwoods actions, and I hope that the sentence handed to him will provide her with some closure.
“I also want to reassure people that those who use violence will face the consequences while victims will be supported and given any help and advice they should need.”
