Returning this April, Paint Macc Pink aims to raise awareness and funds to tackle breast cancer.
Macclesfield based, Heather Glover, Prevent Breast Cancer Ambassador who is resurrecting Paint Macc Pink with her team, met recently with local MP, David Rutley to enrol his support for the exciting plans for this year’s event to make it bigger and better than ever.
Paint Macc Pink is all about helping to raise awareness of breast cancer and this colourful campaign is also in aid of the Manchester-based charity, Prevent Breast Cancer.
Throughout the whole month Paint Macc Pink is encouraging everyone who wants to get involved to hold an event or fundraiser under the Paint Macc Pink umbrella. Launching at the Treacle Market on 26th March, the month-long event will run to the 30th April with a dedicated Pink Treacle Market taking place to finish up.
During April, the Paint Macc Pink team is asking schools, local businesses and the community to take part to raise much needed funds for this important cause. From organising a wear pink day at work, to baking pink cakes for a coffee morning, to donating prizes to raffles/tombola’s, all the activities will help Paint Macc Pink.
Over the weekend of the 21st April to 23rd April, the Paint Macc Pink team have also organised “The Big Pink Weekend”. They are encouraging as many local bars and pubs to hold fundraising events to get as many people involved as possible during that time.
More information on how to get involved can be found via the following website:

Speaking after the meeting, David said “The Paint Macc Pink team deserve all the support they can get with their exciting plans, which are even bigger and better this year. Most of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. This is a great opportunity to support Prevent Breast Cancer in a very effective and memorable way. I wish them every success.”
