Sometime between 2pm and 2.22pm on Monday 5 April a 36-year-old man was walking down steps to Pavillion Fields when he was assaulted by three men.
He was treated by paramedics for minor injuries on his return to his address.
Police made a search of the area but the suspects were not located. Enquiries are continuing.
The suspects are described as all having short dark brown hair and were wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.
The first male had a tuft of hair at the front of his head, he was wearing a sky blue t-shirt and spoke with a Liverpool accent.
The second male was wearing a black hoodie with a small logo on the left crest. He also had a tattoo on the right-hand side of his neck, just to the right of his Adam's apple.
