Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following an attempted robbery at a bakery in Handforth.
At 4.24pm on Friday 4th July a man wearing a balaclava approached the rear of Greggs Bakery in Wilmslow Road and assaulted a member of staff with a hammer. He ran to the front of the shop to alert his colleagues .
The suspect tried to open a safe but failed and made off.
DS Tom Binder said:
“Thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured, but did require hospital treatment. I’d urge anyone who recognises this man or has any information including dash cam or CCTV to contact us so that we can progress with our enquiries.”
