Free walk-in Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) are available from Cheshire West and Chester Council’s own mobile pop-up COVID-19 testing units which will be located in Winsford and Ellesmere Port next week.
As of 14 March 2022, the pop-up testing units will be located:
- Opposite Asda, Mercer Walk, Ellesmere Port, from 9am to 3.30pm, Monday, 14 March, to Friday, 18 March.
- Cheviot Square, Winsford, CW7 1QS, from 9am to 3pm, Monday, 14 March, to Friday, 18 March.
Fixed LFT testing facilities are also located at the Dingle Centre in Winsford and Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre in Ellesmere Port and will remain operational until 31 March.
Attendance at any of these testing facilities do not require an appointment and all sites offer free home testing kits.
Free COVID-19 testing ends on 31 March so pick up free testing kits at the pop-up testing units, fixed site testing facilities or any public library whilst stocks last.
The tests are for anyone who does not have any COVID-19 symptoms. This type of test is good at picking up people who have no symptoms but are infected with COVID-19 and so may be unknowingly spreading the disease.
The Council recommends that everyone tests for COVID-19 twice a week regardless of whether they have been vaccinated. Free home test kits are also readily available at participating local pharmacies or online.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should book a PCR test at:
www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
... or by calling 119.
