Although there is no RHS Flower Show in Tatton Park this year, Knutsford shops and businesses are planning to put on a small floral walk to coincide with when the event would have taken place this year – 22nd to 26th July.
Unlike previous years there will be no set theme with shops displays on a smaller scale but offering some much-needed cheer to the town centre. The ‘event’ has been made possible by the kind sponsorship of Buddha Group and We Are Knutsford. Rupert Wakefield of Buddha Group said, ‘What a year 2020 has turned out to be for everyone. We know everyone looks forward to the flower show and especially the shops lovely displays. We are delighted to help with this event for Knutsford and look forward to seeing everyone’s windows”. Claire Sawyer, Chair of We Are Knutsford said, “Although Lockdown restrictions are slowly easing our charity and community group is still here to support the community of Knutsford. We are more than happy to support our local shops in making Knutsford Bloom”.

Sandra Curties, Town Centre and Marketing Officer for Knutsford said, “It is a difficult time for retail, and everyone is having to get used to the new way of working and indeed shopping. It is great that Knutsford shops and businesses are making the effort to add some much-needed colour and cheer into our town centre. The list of shops taking part is growing daily. We are grateful to Rupert and everyone at the Buddha Group team for their support too!”
The RHS Flower show was due to run from Wednesday 22nd June to Sunday 26th June and the floral displays will be ready from Wednesday onwards. The displays will also be uploaded on to Knutsford Town Council’s Facebook page. The RHS are organising a virtual RHS show this year, RHS Tatton Park at Home, and this can be accessed via the RHS website on 22nd July. The floral walk will be shared on their Sharing Tatton social page on the day. Cllr and Town Mayor Andrew Malloy will be visiting Knutsford next Thursday 23rd July to enjoy the displays and thank the shops for their hard work.
