UK chart topper Sonique is coming to Cheshire next month as one of a trio of pop acts headlining the Great Balloon Race Extravaganza at Bolesworth Castle.
Brit-award winner Sonique, who had an international No 1 hit with ‘It Feels So Good’, will headline the three-day hot air balloon event on Friday August 6th.
Saturday night’s headliner is 90s sensation Rozalla – whose biggest hit ‘Everybody’s Free (to Feel Good) reached No 6 in the UK.
Finishing the weekend is Angie Brown, who sang on Bizarre Inc’s 90s hit ‘I’m Gonna Get Ya’ and has performed vocals for a range of top-selling artistes including Mark Morrison, Fat Boy Slim and Stereophonics.
The three pop stars will be joined by an amazing weekend of aerial entertainment at the Cheshire venue, which also features up to 50 of the UK’s best hot air balloons taking to the skies and also performing a dazzling night glow show with the Ibiza Classics Orchestra.
Spectators will also get the chance to see a daredevil paramotor display by the Sky Rascals and the breath-taking Sky Dance which is performed from a 100ft crane by Incandescence. The evening ends with a dynamic fireworks display.
It is the perfect outdoor summer event to share with family and friends. The organisers have retained certain socially distanced plots, which can hold a maximum of six adults, while mixing between plots is also feasible for larger groups. The event will also continue to operate a ‘click & collect’ food and drinks service – via an event app - and provide additional toilet facilities.
There are three options of plots available, standard, premium and VIP with prices ranging from £65 to £240.
A standard plot (£65) is 3.5m square; a premium plot (£120) is 5m square and includes a bench and is located nearer the show arena; or a VIP plot (£240) is 5m square and also includes a welcome drink, table service, a prime location by the arena, VIP parking and VIP toilet facilities.
Event director Adam Faulkner said: “Our headline acts have always been a big part of our shows and it’s great to be able to bring Sonique, Rozalla and Angie Brown to Cheshire.
“They are incredible performers and add extra star quality to what is an already amazing array of entertainment on show.
“We’re really looking forward to bringing the Great Balloon Race festival to Bolesworth Castle.”
For those with a head for heights, balloon flights also available with prices starting from £325 for an individual on a shared flight, £950 for a couple and up to £1,650 for a party of six.
All balloon activities are weather permitting and conducted in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority guidelines.
