THE KEY THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MANCHESTER AIRPORT THIS WEEK

As Manchester Airport heads towards what would normally be ones of its busiest months of the year, the Northern Hub is updating customers on its latest developments.

With the UK Government removing Spain from the travel corridors list at the weekend, passengers should be aware that they now need to quarantine on return to the UK. Furthermore, due to the change in policy, some carriers have taken the decision to cancel flights to Spain and its islands, so passengers should check with their airline if they have any specific flight enquiries.

Due to the fast-moving nature of the decision surrounding Spain, the airport has made the decision to relax its refund policy for passengers impacted by the changes. Passengers should contact the airport’s customer services team if they have any queries.

Each week more and more flights resume from Manchester and following the recent change to travel to Spain, passengers are reminded to check the latest Government information regarding travel corridors: www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors

UK Government Passenger Locator Form

With the Government’s relaxation of quarantine, and introduction of travel corridors, all passengers arriving into Manchester Airport need to be ready for UK Border control by completing a Passenger Locator Form. Upon arrival they will need to show either a print out of the form or have it on their phone. A link to access the Government’s form is here: https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

Terminals:

All three of Manchester Airport’s terminals are in operation, as more airlines resume services and retail outlets start to re-open.

Passengers are advised to check which terminal they’re flying from before arriving at the airport, as some airlines are operating from different ones than they normally would.

Safety Measures:

For more than a month the airport has introduced a range of measures to keep all passengers and staff safe. These include wearing face coverings, enhanced cleaning, Perspex screens, bookable security slots and temperature checks. Details on all of the measures can be found here: www.manchesterairport.co.uk/coronavirus

The airport also encourages passengers to watch this video before coming to the airport, to ensure they are as prepared as possible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=066EkSedbFo

Rad Taylor, Operations Director at Manchester Airport, said:

“As we continue to see the return of more airlines and destinations for our passengers to fly to, we remain fully committed to ensuring their safety throughout their airport journey.

“It is pleasing routes are increasing each week, giving passengers who want to travel the choice and opportunity to do so. This is why we now have all three terminals in operation, to allow passengers to maintain and keep a safe distance whilst on site.

“I’d like to thank all our passengers for continuing to abide by the measures in place during these uncertain times, and also thank all our staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure safe travel for all.”
