Detectives investigating a serious assault at an address in Macclesfield have charged two men in relation to the incident.
At around 11.40pm on Wednesday 19th November, police were called to reports of an incident at an address on Fir Court in Macclesfield.
Officers attended and found that a 44-year-old man had sustained serious injuries following an assault.
The man was taken to Macclesfield Hospital where he remains at this time.
Six men and one woman were subsequently arrested in relation to the incident and, following questioning, two men have since been charged.
Haden Whittaker and Aaron Whittaker have both been charged with attempted murder,
Haden, 33, of Rowarth Road in Manchester, and Aaron, 35, of Ivymeade Road in Macclesfield, have both been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 24th November.
The remaining suspects have all been released pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector David Worthington said:
“I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident, and we are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
