A woman has been banned from entering Macclesfield town centre for the next two years, after she was issued a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Shanon Duncan, of London Road, Macclesfield, was handed the order at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 1 August.
The 25-year-old is banned from entering the town centre for two years under the terms of the CBO, which was applied for by Macclesfield South Beat Management Team in response to her behaviour.
Duncan is permitted to attend pre-arranged appointments at Macclesfield Police Station or the doctors surgery on Sutherland Street.
Sergeant Matthew Bassirat said:
“I am grateful the CBO has been granted, and hope it brings reassurance to residents.
“Duncan has been causing problems in the town for a number of years by committing crime. This includes shoplifting and stealing from people’s vehicles.
“She will be under the terms of the CBO for the next two years, and if she fails to comply with the conditions, she could face time in prison.
“This should serve as a reminder that we will do all we can to crack down on those who cause issues in our communities.”
