A woman who was involved in a serious collision in Macclesfield has sadly died.
At 8.37am on Tuesday 8th September, police were called to a collision on Coare Street, near to the junction of Westminster Road.
Officers attended and found that the collision involved a DPD delivery van and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 68-year-old local woman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by air ambulance.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, Linda Richards passed away as a result of her injuries on Thursday 24 September.
Following her death, Linda’s family said:
“We are saddened by the loss of Linda and know that she will be remembered by those whose lives she touched. As a family, we ask for privacy and understanding at this difficult time.”
Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and the driver of the van, a 24-year-old man from Shelton, remains on bail at this time.
