Work got underway today on a new 1.5-mile walking and cycling route between Wilmslow and Handforth.
The project will improve accessibility and provide an enhanced safe cycle and walking route connecting Wilmslow and Handforth.
The works will be completed in phases, and the initial phase of the works is scheduled to take approximately 32 weeks to complete. The first phase of works will include:
- Installation of new segregated cycleway;
- Two new crossings for pedestrians and cyclists;
- The introduction of a bus stop bypass;
- Improved signage; and
- A reduction in the speed limit along the route from 40mph to 30mph
