The King’s School in Macclesfield and Wilmslow Preparatory School (WPS) are delighted to announce an exciting new collaborative partnership.
The partnership will see teachers from both schools’ Infant & Junior Divisions working together to align the schools academically whilst also sharing best practice across academic and extra-curricular activities.
King’s and WPS have shared values with an emphasis on a holistic education that develops skills as well as knowledge, challenging pupils to aspire and develop their potential. Under the new strategic alliance, pupils at WPS will now have the opportunity to use the facilities at King’s brand-new school set in 80 acres of Cheshire countryside. The campus boasts multiple sporting facilities as well as impressive facilities for the performing arts and outdoor education.
Head of Foundation at the King’s School, Mr Jason Slack, said, “King’s is delighted to be partnering with one of our existing and regular feeder schools in a more structured way, and providing an additional route for entry into King’s Senior Division.
“The two schools are now in relatively close proximity. Wilmslow Prep offers a small school, town centre environment with excellent facilities which is ideally suited to some younger children. Through the partnership we are looking to ease these children’s transition to ‘big school’.”
Head of Wilmslow Prep School, Mr Bradley Lavagna-Slater is enthusiastic about the partnership, saying: “Collaboration on curriculum development at WPS has already begun and pupils in Years 5 and 6 will be visiting King’s new facilities next academic year. This will help WPS pupils become familiar with the resources and environment and help facilitate their subsequent senior school transition.”
He added: “King’s is clearly a forward-thinking school and this partnership is an exciting development for our staff and our ambitious young pupils and we are looking forward to working closely with King’s for the benefit of children at both schools.”
