Officers are appealing for help in tracing a wanted 45-year-old man.
Chikondi Mwale, 45, is wanted in connection with a sexual offence which occurred in May 2015 in Handforth.
Mwale is black, around 5’9” tall, of heavy build, with black spiked hair and brown eyes.
Extensive enquiries to locate Mwale have been underway since the incident and it is now believed he has recently travelled to London.
Detective Constable Tom Towe said: “We understand that the public will have concerns regarding the length of time that has passed since this incident occurred however this does not mean we haven’t been working on this case and to locate Mwale.
“We have followed several enquiries over the years which revealed to us that Mwale had left the country.
“However, after recent developments, we now believe that Mwale has recently returned to the UK and we have several enquiries underway to locate him.”
Anyone with information in relation to Mwale’s whereabouts, or Mwale himself, is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via:
