Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage following an armed robbery at a newsagents in Wilmslow.
At around 7.30am on Tuesday 9 January an unknown man, armed with a knife, entered the store on Twinnies Road, Lacey Green.
The man threatened staff and demanded that they opened the till, before subsequently fleeing the scene with a black purse containing a small amount of cash.
The suspect was described as a white man, in his early 20’s, he was wearing a high visibility jacket and a snood which was covering his face.
Enquires in relation to the incident are ongoing and as part of the investigation officers are urging anyone with any information or video footage to come forward.
Detective Constable Steven Kaminski, who is leading the investigation, said:
“The victim in this case was left shaken as a result of their ordeal and we’re committed to doing all we can to identify the person responsible.
“The incident occurred at a busy time of day, when there are likely to have been lots of people in the area travelling to work and school, and as part of our investigation we’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious.
“We would also like to hear from anyone with any CCTV or video doorbell footage of the suspect. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage.
“I’d urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Wilmslow on 101 quoting IML 1730895.”
