Officers are appealing for information from the public after a Shetland pony was stolen from a farm on the outskirts of Winsford.
The pony, called Isla, was stolen sometime between 10pm on Friday 2 July and 6am on Saturday 3 July from a farm off Darnhall School Lane.
Isla is describes as a chestnut coloured 32 inch tall miniature Shetland mare.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are urging anyone with any information or video footage that may aid their investigation to get in touch.
Inspector Jason Murray, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “Isla’s owners have been left absolutely devastated by this incident and we are keen to do all we can to trace the people responsible and reunite her with their rightful owners.
“Isla is used as a therapy pony and regularly goes out on walks in the local area, meaning that she is well known by the local community.
“The stables where Isla was taken from are in a semi-rural area, and in order to have accessed the farm it is likely that the offenders will have travelled along Darnhall School Lane or Moores Lane.
“Therefore, as part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area on the night of the incident and believes they may have seen anything suspicious.
“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid our investigation.
“We urge anyone who has any information, no matter how small, or is offered the chance to buy Isla, to call us on 101.”
Anyone with information or footage that may be relevant to the investigation is asked to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML1028182, give the details via:
