Officers investigating reports of an armed robbery in Handforth are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
On Sunday 13 October at around 5pm, police received reports of a robbery in Meriton Road.
A teenager who had travelled on his e-bike from Meriton Road Park was approached by three suspects near the junction of Meriton Road and Wilmslow Road. The suspects were riding mopeds and chased the victim back to the park.
The victim fled towards his three friends who were still present in the park and the suspects, who were believed to be armed, subsequently approached the group and stole two e-bikes, a coat, and a hat. They then left the scene.
The suspects are believed to be between 17 and 18 years old, males, and were dressed all in black including gloves and balaclavas.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Joyce said:
“We understand this incident is very concerning for members of the public, however we would like to reassure people that we are doing all we can to trace those responsible.
“As part of enquiries into this incident, we would like anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw anything before or after the incident which could aid our investigation to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage."
