Appeal for witnesses following reports of sexual assault in Macclesfield

Officers are appealing for witnesses and those with dashcam footage to come forward following reports of assault and sexual assault in Macclesfield.

At 1.07am on Tuesday 11th August, police were called to reports of an incident in Churchill Way, Macclesfield.

It was reported that a man had been assaulted and sexually assaulted, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance. He remains in hospital at this time.

DI Claire Miles said:

“An investigation is currently ongoing, and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious or relevant in the area before or after it is believed to have occurred.

“We would also ask anyone who was driving in Macclesfield town centre between 10.40pm on Monday 10 August and 1.10am on Tuesday 11 August, to please check their dashcam footage to see if anything relevant has been captured. This includes near to the Churchill Way and Sunderland Street area.
